2019 Spring Interiors Trends: There’s Nothing ‘Beige’ About This Trend.

POSTED: May, 16, 2019

Spring is the perfect season for a refresh, revamp and restyle. The improving weather encourages homeowners to start their spring clean and that often includes updating any tired furniture. One way to freshen up your home is to choose on-trend colours and patterns. One of the hottest trends for 2019 is also one of the most versatile – beige. Once a shade you wanted to steer clear of, the light colour has been given a contemporary overhaul.

The word ‘beige’ doesn’t automatically evoke glamorous or stylish connotations, but if we rebrand it and perhaps refer to this shade as stone, ecru, old white, new white, taupe etc… it suddenly starts to sound a little more exciting. This particular shade of beige is a warm, chocolate-brown type of beige, with hints of grey. It can feel warmer with hints of red, or cooler with hints of green, making it extremely versatile and timelessly popular.

Whilst we might not be brave enough to paint an entire room in this trendy new shade, choosing accessories and statement furniture is far easier and just as effective. There are a variety of beige sofas available from ROM sofas, in various styles and shapes. The colour works so well in any room of the house, whether for a living room, bathroom, hallway or bedroom. For those who have a lot of grey in their house, beige is your friend! It will work with almost anything and looks particularly stunning when paired with brass and black accents and accessories.

Beige will bring warmth and a sense of calm to a space. Using the colour tonally mixed with a little stone, natural wood and linen interiors feels instantly serene. Texture is important in the home so try mixing different shades of beige with wool and satin, silk and rattan, shiny and matte.
